XBMC – GSoC 2012 Statistics Gathering

By Reginald | | Latest News, XBMC

This morning there was a post on XBMC talking about one of the Interns from Google’s Summer of Code, he is looking to make the current scrapers even better! But to do that he needs some information, below is a quote of how to help and what data XBMC is looking for: To do this, we’ve created a script that you can find in the Program Addons folder of your XBMC install called “Statistics gathering for scraping GSoC 2012.” What the script will gather is the bare essential metadata if scanned into the library, title, year, runtime, tvshow, episode number …

Skin Showcase: Aeon MQ3

By Riddles81 | | Movies, Music, Skin Showcase, TV

There’s an age old saying that goes something like “The best things in life are free”. Rarely does this actually come to fruition and we are often left saying things like “The love of my wife… that’s free” or something equally gooey and feel good! Let’s be honest though, I think we all know there’s nothing free about having a significant other around the house.  😉 Enter XBMC stage right and I’m finally happy to say that for once it really is free! Early on XBMC could be a little buggy and certainly wasn’t the beautiful work of art it …

Organizing your (XBMC) music library

By Daniel Sonck | | Music

In order to fully appreciate all the artwork that can be found here, you might want to organize all your music. This allows the cdART Manager plugin to save the artwork together with you music to allow easy backup of your whole library. And this also gives you the ability to browse your collection and play your songs with VLC, etc… I do have to warn you, this is my preferred way( and I think its the best way). Some parts can be skipped if you don’t need it. Programs The useful programs to help you manage all your music …

What are you watching?

By Reginald | | TV

This is an article I will be looking to write once a week, detailing the shows/movies I have watched. I am still trying to nail down a good format, please let me know if you have any suggestions. This week I watched: The Almighty Johnsons – S02E11, 12, 13 I caught up and finished season 2, episode 12 was a bit trippy and I was never sure where they were going to go with the Gaia and Axl arch but it worked out. I am glad they are bringing Loki back into the story again, he was always amusing and …

Content writers required

By Kode | | Website

I would like to utilise the blog a bit more and give users another reason to visit the site, so we are looking for people who would be interested in writing regular (or any) posts on the site. You can write about anything that is loosely related to the site, so examples could be setting up a particular skin to use fanart images, important xbmc (or plex/mediabrowser/etc) updates, setting up a raspberry pi to use xbmc, photoshop tips and tricks, how to create cool photoshop (or gimp) effects, top 10 / 20 / 50 /100 lists are always fun, so …

Please upload …

Small change to music API

By Kode | | Website

There has been a small change made to the Music API, for some reason the album cover was listed as “cover” in the xml output and “albumcover” in all other outputs, this has been fixed so it is now “albumcover” in all outputs.

Help us reach a wider audience

By Kode | | Website

We need to reach a wider audience! While the API has had 510,148 unique visitors in the last month, the site itself only received 4,821 unique visitors, most people dont even realise that fanart.tv exists and that is where they are getting their images from, The aim is to get more people involved with the site, and hopefully increasing the image contributions, to that end, please tell your friends about the site, tweet about us, digg us, mention us on your blogs, stumbleupon us, google +1 us, like our facebook page, most of these can be done from the home …
