WordPress visual editor missing after update – fixed

By Kode | | Website

I recently found, after updating to WordPress 3.4, that the visual editor had stopped working, for no discernible reason that I could think of. After a lot of time spent trying to fix this issue, which involved deactivating all my plugins, renaming the plugin folder, changing theme, none of which produced any results, I eventually dived into the code to debug – the solution was ridiculously simple yet not at all intuitive. I found that get_user_option( ‘rich_editing’ ) was not returning true, this confused me as I had already looked to make sure that it wasn’t disabled in my user profile, nevertheless …

What are you watching?

By Reginald | | Reviews, TV

Sorry for the late posting, I was in Indianapolis this weekend for a wedding, here is what I watched this past week! Better off Ted – S02E13 This episode was unaired in the US, I LOVED this show, if you have not seen it and like amazing half hour comedies that have a lot of wit and snark. You will no doubt love this show. I was able to procure this episode and was finally able to watch it. It was great and I am not to sure why it was not aired in the US. It had a lot …

Sigur Rós – Valtari Review or: How Shia LeBeouf’s Junk Might Not Be Enough

By pete_the_lion | | Music, Reviews

How do you market an album of slow, atmospheric tracks to a world hopped up on the internet with an ADD infected finger-trigger? You produce a video with Shia LeBeouf’s wang. This might be an illustrious introduction to Sigur Rós for some people, but chances are you’ve already heard them without knowing it. Vanilla Sky utilised Svefn-g-englar  to help wring emotion from a rock Tom Cruise. Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic somehow managed to add more whimsy by getting underwater puppets to dance to Staralfur. The BBC (and presumably every other channel offering nature documentaries) used Hoppipolla whenever they could, pairing it …

My Experience of XBMC

By Hidd3nFury | | XBMC

Aeon Up until 2009 I had only really heard the term HTPC a few times and had never heard of XBMC. The only media centre software I really had any experience of was Windows Media Centre and couldn’t stand the way it looked or operated so I never really gave it the light of day. At the time I was using TVersity to stream my TV shows and movies to my Xbox which worked alright but was never perfect. Then one day in March a friend sent me a link to a YouTube video that would change the whole way …

XBMC – GSoC 2012 Statistics Gathering

By Reginald | | Latest News, XBMC

This morning there was a post on XBMC talking about one of the Interns from Google’s Summer of Code, he is looking to make the current scrapers even better! But to do that he needs some information, below is a quote of how to help and what data XBMC is looking for: To do this, we’ve created a script that you can find in the Program Addons folder of your XBMC install called “Statistics gathering for scraping GSoC 2012.” What the script will gather is the bare essential metadata if scanned into the library, title, year, runtime, tvshow, episode number …

Skin Showcase: Aeon MQ3

By Riddles81 | | Movies, Music, Skin Showcase, TV

There’s an age old saying that goes something like “The best things in life are free”. Rarely does this actually come to fruition and we are often left saying things like “The love of my wife… that’s free” or something equally gooey and feel good! Let’s be honest though, I think we all know there’s nothing free about having a significant other around the house.  😉 Enter XBMC stage right and I’m finally happy to say that for once it really is free! Early on XBMC could be a little buggy and certainly wasn’t the beautiful work of art it …
